My Story

Rough Life in Paradise

Born and raised in Hawaii. And although Hawaii is a beautiful place to live, I decided to relocate to Las Vegas to build a better life.

In 2016, two major things happened in my life. A death in my family ( which I will get to) and the loss of my freedom. I went to prison because of my addiction to Crystal Methamphetamine.

I was sentenced to 7 years. And, because Hawaii does not have a federal prison, I was transferred to a federal prison in Texas where I utilized every educational opportunity. Eventually, I graduated from Blinn College with my Small Business Management degree.

As my date to go home got closer, I realized that even though I was a changed person, going back into the same environment might be a huge temptation; same place, same people, same bad activities going on. I knew I needed a change in scenery to live my fullest potential.

Why Las Vegas?

Remember that death in my family I mentioned? My youngest brother moved to Vegas shortly after our brother died at the age of 26. It was never officially determined that he died from drugs, but he did have high levels of Oxycotin in his blood stream. With me going away to prison and after burying our brother, my youngest brother made the best decision he could have made. He moved away from Hawaii.

Th entire time I was locked up, my brother was rebuilding his life in Las Vegas. We kept in close contact. And I’ll never forget what he said to me,“Sis, there’s no way I’m gonna let you go back to Hawaii. Come to Vegas.”

So in a nutshell, my brother saved my life. In 2022, I was released from prison and started my new life in Vegas.

I quickly found a job and saved my money to start my own business. In a few months I was able to buy equipment, get my business license, and print my first shirt. With all the technological advances since I was in prison, exploring the social media scene was both scary and exciting. But it was the most feasible way to market my brand to the world.

Born Bossy

I always had a slick mouth, so I’ve been told. Well to my defense, no matter what I say, I’m usually right 😂 And that’s the essence of a true born Bossyass.

My first account No1Bossyass appeared on Instagram in 2011. At first it was just a profile name, not a business. It was a title that reflected my personality. Fast forward 11 years, and it is not just a title anymore, it’s a Lifestyle.

No1Bossyass has become my creative outlet to express my inner BOSS(iness) and give to the world a reason to be unapologetic and proud to be who they are.
